Tongue cancers are oral cancers cells that are set apart by their place in the mouth and also on the tongue. If the cancer cells gets on the forward part of the tongue, it is known as a squamous cell cancer cells of the oral tongue. If the cancer is located to the rear third of the tongue, it is known as a squamous cell cancer at the base of the tongue.
